Een heel jaar lang haakte ik elke dag een vierkantje, 361 in totaal, waardoor er 4 dagen overbleven om 5 toerige rand te haken. En het is me gewoon gelukt! Ik heb mezelf er zo door verbaasd dat het me gelukt is! En ik ben zo trots op het eindresultaat! En ik ben er ook gewoon heeeeeel erg blij mee!! :-D
I crocheted 1 granny square a day for a whole year, 361 squares in total and 4 days left to crochet the 5 round border. And I did it! I surprised myself that I did it and I'm so proud of the end result! And I'm soooooo happy with it! :-D
Dit is hem dan! Een heel groot granny hart! 1 januari 2015 gestart en 31 december 2015 haakte ik de laatste steek en werd hij gewassen en opgespannen.
Here it is! A big granny heart! Started January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2015 I made the final stitch and got it washed and blocked.
Dat wassen blijft toch altijd even spannend, zullen de kleuren niet doorlopen en is hij straks niet misvormd? Ik waste hem op 30 graden op de wolwas stand met een color catcher doekje erbij, maar dat doekje kwam er gewoon in dezelfde kleur weer uit :-D Opspannen is altijd een leuk klusje, hij paste echt precies op de foam puzzelstukken, hij had dus niet veel groter moeten zijn ;-)
Washing is always exciting, will the colors run through and will the shape stay the same? I washed it at 30 degrees at the wool position on my washing machine with a color catcher just in case. Blocking is always a task, I just had enough space on my foam blocks to block it.
De rand hield ik eenvoudig door de 'block stitch' te gebruiken. Een rand granny's in creme, een rand met 3 lossen, 1 vaste tussen de granny's in 4 verschillende kleuren, een rand granny's. rand lossen en vasten en nog een laatste rand granny's.
I kept the border plain by using the 'block stitch'. One border granny's in creme, a border with chain 3 and 1 single crochet in 4 different colors, a border granny's, a border with chains and a single crochet and a border granny's.
How did I manage to keep up? By posting a picture of the square I made every day on Instagram. But not just the square, also something to remind me what happend that day like my job, another crochet project I was working on, a symbol for something that happend that day, you name it. Sometimes I was a few days behind, but I kept going because I thought people where missing my posts. And because I wasn't only posting granny's every day I had the feeling I wasn't boring anyone and it also kept it fun for myself :-)
Dit jaar weer? Nee dit jaar sla ik over. Ik heb zin om andere mooie dingen te haken, want ook al is het maar 1 vierkantje per dag, het is toch 1 vierkantje per dag ;-) Ik ben al druk bezig met wat leuke projecten en er liggen er ook weer een hoop die toch wel eens af moeten, dus ik vermaak me wel ;-D
Am I doing it this year again? No, I'm working on other projects this year. I'm busy with some fun projects and I have a lot of wips lying around that need to be finished so I won't get bored ;-)
En natuurlijk nog het progress filmpje! Ik was hem bijna vergeten ;-)
